Volkswagen Rabbit Convertible (1984), Professionally converted in 1998 by Ed’s Portola Arco, Santa Cruz using a standard Electro Automotive Voltsrabbit kit (96vdc). New batteries were installed in May 2003. I’ve put about 1,000 miles on the new batteries. Mechanically, the car is in excellent shape. Many parts were replaced at conversion time (1998), including brakes, clutch, electrical parts, paint, tires, top. The interior is in good shape, but the vinyl has some cracking and chips. The upholstery is in good shape. Also included are the receipts for work on the car since 1998, manuals including a VW mechanics manual and the Electro Automotive conversion manual, battery filler, and heavy-duty extension cord. Everything you need to run and maintain an electric car.
I bought the car as a project. The batteries were dead, and the battery racks needed refinishing. I’ve refinished the battery racks and replaced worn parts. The car is now in perfect working order, but it’s time to take the money out, and start another project ;-). Asking $4,900.
